John Laverty and Hearing Care’s new location

John Laverty Optometrists and Hearing Care is a family business which has traded in Coleraine for over 30 years. Their new home at No 1 Abbey Street has origins dating back to the 13th Century, proudly commemorated with the brick wall recreated from the site as you enter the building.

This luxurious building has been designed to offer the latest in Optometry and Audiology. Brian McKeown and his team have invested in digital technology throughout which provides more precise assessments and measurements to continue to provide the best care possible. They also have an impressive collection of stunning frames from all over Europe.

The Chamber caught up with Brian at the recent Business Awards “It’s so exciting to finally be in our new bespoke premises. It took a long time, but I can honestly say it has been worth the wait. The location is fantastic and the space is incredible, it gives us so much more scope to offer more services beyond the traditional services you would expect from an Optician. Customers are also so complementary about the design and colours we’ve used. It’s a real peaceful and comfortable place to work, unlike other high street, fast paced chains and that was the aim. We had someone call in thinking we were a cafe, and he was right, we do serve great coffee!”
